i wouldn't mind having a wall like this, either.

i think i'm going to adorn my new apartment bedroom with these. such a darling way to add another light source.

david harper's rendition of a bookcase. i didn't notice at first, but the wood color and quality changes as the bookcase grows. now, if i only needed to stash my novels outdoors.

stunningly ornate wall calendar from strichpunkt which sold out within a few days. the challenge to create a calendar resemblant of the best lithographs from 1855 sure was overcome with this delightful product.
the detail that must've gone into this work amazes me. truly a piece of art.

quirky jewelry from etsy designer, ulala. i can really imagine giving one of these as a gift to a lady of any age and not doubting they'll like it! and i mean, come on, who doesn't want that?

quite the packaging designs from absolute sellout. i really like when such known items are stripped of all the extraneous elements and you're left with just what you need. no fancy text, no wild slogans - just the product.

collections of different productions of one item. an interesting way to note all of the small changes made to a commercialized product over time (for the erasers, at least). also, am i the only one who reaaaally dislikes those little bread tags?! so annoying.

it's kind of sad how badly i want this artificial moon from wang yuyang. albeit much to big to fit anywhere in my house, i just want to stand right under it! my sculpture successes were never this great.

what's incredible about this is that it's watercolor. jaakko mattila sure knows how to please my eyes. i tried a paint-dripping approach in one of my pieces last year... didn't work out as well.

i just found out yesterday that i'm going to be traveling to d.c. and new york this summer. (yay, out of this town!) i can't wait for the view similar to this portrait from jim darling. being a traveller since i was the ripe age of 6 months, i'm very used to seeing this outside of plane windows. i'm glad someone finally documented it.

i was just told to "upgrade my life to helvetica" because i prefer arial to be my choice in common fonts. this little pamphlet shows me why. there will always be a little place in my heart for arial, but i'm movin' on.

right now, i'm missing my home in los angeles pretty badly. this piece of work from ball-nouges hangs from the side of a santa monica parking structure. it always caught my eye when i would adventure down to the beach for a day. ah, such adventures couldn't come soon enough.

excuse the image sizing, blogger's being goofy. technical problems aside, i love this set of typographic letters printed on newspaper. i can't help but be partial to the "C" that could be seen in a horror movie title. i think it even glows in the dark? you know i fancy that!

is anyone else bewildered by the idea that these materials come from our earth? it seems impossible for such an advanced, technological world could produce something so simply natural, yet spectacular.

a small collection of landscape photos. i appreciate the the attention to detail. when is it you really focus on one small portion of ground when you're outside? so uncommon, but crazy lovely.

some of the most unique wedding invites i've seen, thanks to perky bros. the tree rings and letterpressed cards add such a woodsy touch to a fancy occasion without losing the bit of class that comes with the typography.

although it's sunny here, i couldn't help but posting another cloudy inspiration piece. this sculpture lets everyone do what they've always imagined - to sit atop the clouds.
p.s. - can the rope ladder leading up get any cuter?

one of my exes was wildly captivated by clouds. we'd spend hours on his rooftop watching them roll through the heartland sky at all times of day, even in the rain. i think i've gained his interest because these photos blow my mind.

i was quite the fan of miniatures. i would always stop in the dollhouse aisle at craft stores, picking out my mini accessory for the trip. these teensy sculptures are just perfect to satisfy my taste.

this is the kind of art i love. it's quirky and unique. this all came about when doug pedersen set out to produce a collection made only of materials found inside a dollar store. his media of choice? melted crayons and plastic animals. a+ for
creativity everything.
